| Not everyone can afford the membership cost of a fitness club, let alone home equipment. In case you cannot afford the brand new weight lifting equipment, there are a few alternatives. If you need a pair of dumbbells, consider your canned goods. Since cans come in different sizes, you can purchase ones that are easy to grasp and lift. Then based on your lifting needs you can stack them, place in a one-pound bag and stuff them in tube socks. Voila, you have homemade dumbbells.
